Why Choose a Kia EV?

Kia EVs are remarkable vehicles with a whole lot to offer. Some top features include quiet operation, quick acceleration, zero tailpipe emissions, and overall lower fueling and maintenance costs. You’ll also find exciting potential for opportunities like tax credits, low carbon emissions, and off-peak electricity rates.

  • Tax credits. There is a federal tax credit for electric vehicle owners. Also, you may be eligible for certain state incentives, depending on the state you live in.
  • Zero emissions. Kia EVs have a lower carbon footprint over the course of their life on the road. At the end of a vehicle’s life, Kia engages in a battery recycling process that focuses on careful extraction of recyclable materials.
  • Off-peak electricity rates. Certain electric utility companies might have options for reduced electricity rates during specific hours if you are an electric vehicle owner, meaning that you could pay less to charge your vehicle during set time frames as determined by your electricity provider. For details, contact your current provider.

Kia EV Charging Options

There are loads of charging options available for your Kia EV. All three Kia EVs can be charged using either AC charging or DC fast charging. Your charging times will vastly differ depending on whether you have a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 charger available. Level 1 charging takes the longest to fully charge your vehicle, Level 2 chargers take a few hours, and Level 3 charging is the fastest charging available. Kia of East Hartford is proud to offer Level 2 charger home installation so you don’t have to worry about keeping your vehicle charged for daily use.

So how do you keep track of all the charging information you need access to? That’s easy — the Kia Connect app! Available for both Apple® and Android devices, this app lets you check charging status, schedule charging, access Electrify America credits, and find charging stations.

What are Electrify America credits? These are complimentary charging credits available for the Kia EV6, EV9, and Niro EV. They are available through the Electrify America Kia Charge Pass Program, which gives you access to Electrify America’s nationwide network.

How to Find Public Charging Stations Near You

So how do you find a public charging station when you’re out and about? The Kia Connect app is an excellent option, as it allows you to locate charging stations in your vicinity. Another option is the PlugShare community, a resource for leaving and finding reviews of charging stations, planning trips, and finding compatible chargers.
